2023 SF Back to School Program

40% of homeless youth identify as LGBTQIA+*

Homelessness can happen to anyone, but one of the most affected populations in America are young people who identify as LGBTQIA+. In fact, young people in this community are 120% more likely to experience homelessness vs. their peers.

A lack of shelter also makes it harder to access clean clothing, can create feelings of isolation, and influence a young person’s school performance and attendance. That’s why the Soule Foundation is looking to create back-to-school wellness backpacks to support LGBTQIA+ Youth. All this summer, we are looking to create at least 200 book bags/care packages.

These bags at the end of the summer, will be donated locally to the AliForney center in NYC, and additional centers that support LGBTQIA+ Youth.

Please look at the ways you can support.
